Water resistance

ISO 22810 - Water resistance standard

The new ISO 22810 standard define the testing panel to be completed and reached.

The manufacturer is responsible to define the testing program and the sampling planning. The company is also in charge to fix the granted activities and the guarantee requirements to be applied. In this respect, the manufacturer enjoys full freedom of action but on the same way takes a full responsibility facing client.

Water resistance

Water resistance is defined through 3 different testing.

1. Air testing

The watch is placed inside a device, controlling the water resistance to the air (by differential pressure).

2. Water over-pressure testing

The watch is placed inside a full water tank, simulating an immersion at defined depth.

To confirm the result, a cold water drop testing is applied (on the watch prior heated) before and after the water resistance testing.

3. Water-resistance into low depth

The watch is placed inside a water tank at defined depth of 10 cm and a fixed duration of 60 min.

On the same way, to confirm the result, a cold water drop testing is applied (on the watch prior heated) after the water resistance testing.
